Custom software · Data & workflow

One system instead of six.

Most teams don't have a software problem. They have six pieces of software that don't talk to each other. We build the one application that does, and we bring your old data with us.

The situation we usually walk into

Every tool solved one problem and created a seam.

A scheduler here. A billing portal there. Three spreadsheets nobody will admit to maintaining, and a records system from 2009 that still holds the only copy of something important.

Nothing is broken, exactly. It just takes four logins and a phone call to answer one question, and the answer is only as good as whoever re-typed the data last.

  • Double entry Same patient, same information, typed into three systems.
  • No single answer Two reports disagree and nobody can say which is right.
  • Locked-up history Old records exist, but nobody can search them.
  • Per-seat creep Six subscriptions, each billing for the same handful of people.

What we do

Two kinds of work, usually in this order.

  • Consolidation

One application, not a stack of them

We map how work actually moves through your team, not how the org chart says it does, then build a single application that carries it end to end. Fewer logins, one source of truth, no re-typing between systems.

  • Custom builds

The software that doesn't exist yet

When off-the-shelf almost fits but never quite does, we build the part that's missing. Integrations between systems that were never meant to speak, internal tools, reporting your vendor won't add.

How we work

Four steps. You see working software in the first month.

  1. 01

    Map

We sit with the people doing the work and document every system, handoff, and workaround. You get the map whether or not you hire us for the rest.

  2. 02

    Build

We build in small pieces you can use and react to. No twelve-month silence followed by a launch nobody asked for.

  3. 03

    Migrate

Your history moves over, verified and reconciled and checked against the source before anything is switched off.

  4. 04

    Support

Software you depend on needs someone to call. We stay on for maintenance, changes, and the next thing you need.

Is this you?

You'll recognize at least a couple of these.

  • More than three systems that don't talk to each other.
  • The same information gets typed twice because nothing syncs.
  • Answering one question means four tabs and a phone call.
  • Your oldest records are kept, but nobody can actually search them.
  • A spreadsheet holds the only copy of something you can't lose.
  • Your vendor's roadmap will never include the report you need.

Two or more, and there's probably something worth building. That's the conversation we're good at, and the one where we'll tell you if the answer is no.

Who we are

A small shop, on purpose.

Lafayette, Louisiana

Adaptive Software is a custom software solutions company working with small and mid-sized organizations that have outgrown the tools they started with.

Being small is the point. You work closely with the team, often with the people directly building your software. Decisions are made together, not lost in layers, and we take on projects we can deliver on. We've spent our careers on the unglamorous half of this business, the data nobody wants to touch and the workflows that were never designed, only accumulated.
